Bio
Julie comes from a lineage of Chicago entrepreneurs and has built her career at the intersection of strategy, design, and enterprise transformation. She led Learning and Organizational Development for two NYSE best-in-class companies—Anixter Inc. and Equity Office—both of which went on to record-breaking acquisitions. Those formative experiences shaped her lifelong commitment to making work better by equipping people and organizations to adapt, grow, and innovate.
Today, she serves client transformations as the Co-founder of New Scenario, and as an Operating Partner at Orchid Black and Dragon Camp, bringing strategy, visualization, AI-enabled innovation, and leadership development to organizations preparing for their next chapter.
After corporate roles, Julie moved to consulting, applying what she’d learned about enabling meaningful, systemic change. She has served and co-created with leaders across industries—including Aetna, Bayer, Campbells, Chanel, Ian Schrager/Morgans Hotel Group, Mondelez, P&G, Verizon, the U.S. Postal Service, the U.S. Navy, and the U.S. Air Force—guiding transformations, product launches, culture shifts, and strategic reinventions. Her work with the leadership of Naval Air Systems Command helped inspire the founding of Throughline, now a leading enterprise strategy and design firm blending U.S. Military and commercial brand and CX practices.
Julie is a cultural innovator, collaborator, and amplifier of bold ideas. She has brought major concepts and missions to large audiences for Tom Peters, Seth Godin, Scottie Pippen, Craig Hatkoff and Irwin Kula, Aaron Neville and Sarah Friedman, Tissa Richards, and others. She has held leadership roles in two influential design organizations—as Executive Director of AIGA and as a Board Member of Project Osmosis—advancing design as a force for social impact.
Across every chapter of her work, Julie is known for her ability to visualize what matters, convene diverse teams, and translate ambition into clarity, momentum, and measurable outcomes.
